Competition Description
This year’s Petrolida business case competition challenges participants to strive on
finding the best solution for the given case, which involves problems requiring
effective business strategies. This competition requires a wide range of skills,
including problem analysis and strategy formulation, as well as teamwork ability. The
main purpose of the business case competition is to not only provide knowledge to
participants from a technical point of view, but also to provide them with
opportunities to improve the skills needed to effectively evaluate and solve problems.
Through this competition, the participants will also learn to overcome the difficulties
of facing the developing industry’s current problems.

General Rules
1. Open to all undergraduate students from any university major all around the
world.
2. Each team is allowed to have members of different majors, but they must
come from the same university.
3. Each team is made up of 3 people, with no substitutes.
4. Participants are not permitted to register for more than two Petrolida 2023
teams in the same year.
5. Preliminary Stage and Semi Final Stages will be conducted by using online
platforms and Competition Final Stages will be conducted offline.
6. Any act of plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
7. All entries and administration documents will become the property of the
PETROLIDA 2023 Organizing Committee and will not be returned.
8. Failure to follow the rules, format, or deadline may result in a point deduction
or even disqualification.
9. The judge’s decision is final and cannot be changed under any
circumstances.
Competition Format
The PETROLIDA 2023 Business Case Competition is divided into three stages which
are :
a. The Preliminary Stage (Executive Summary Selection)
b. The Semifinal Stage (Final Solution Report Submission)
c. Final Stage (Presentation Deck Submission)

Semifinal Stage Guidelines

1. This semifinal stage requires participants to submit a full report consisting of a
solution for the problem given in the case.
2. In the semifinal stage, each team must submit a solution report with the
following criteria:
● Margin : 2.5 cm
● Font type : Times New Roman
● Title Font Size : 14 pt
● Font Size : 12 pt
● Line Spacing : 1.15
● Alignment : Justified
● Maximum pages : 10 pages exclude cover, abstract, references, and
appendix
● The report should include Abstract, Introduction, Theoretical Framework,
Problem Explanation, Solution, Conclusion, and Suggestion. Other than
that, participants could write the contents with or without Company Profile
and Supporting Data/Statistic
● Teams are prohibited to write any information regarding their institution.
● Submitted in pdf format to Petrolida’s Website before May 1st, 2023 at
23.59 (GMT+7)
● The format name of solution report is "BCC_Team name"
● If the website could not be opened due to high traffic, you could send the
report by sending to bccomp.petrolida@gmail.com with the subject and
format name "BCC_Team name"
● The full case will be available for download on our website starting April
12th, 2023. To access it, please submit payment through this form:
petrolida.com/SemifinalistPaymentBCCxGrab. Additional instructions will
be provided upon successful payment submission.

Registration of Semifinalist Guideline

1. The registration is open through

2. The fee for the semifinal stage of the Business Case Competition is IDR
150.000/team (USD 15)

5. The deadline is set for April 15th, 2023 at 18.00. It is important that you submit

cancellations in your stage.

Awards
The winners of Petrolida Fracturing Fluid Design Competition 2023 will be announced
at Petrolida Offline Awarding Night and will be awarded a certificate and money. The
winners will receive the following respective prizes

● First Winner : Prize + Certificate : IDR 7.000.000

● First Runner-up : Prize + Certificate : IDR 4.000.000
● Second Runner-up : Prize + Certificate : IDR 2.000.000

*All Delegates will Receive E-Certificates
