4.CONtractor
Can we COUNT on you for giving the best estimate for our building? If so, then you’re in the right
place!!
Event description:
India holds a heritage of magnificent buildings lasting through decades! Have you ever
wondered what were the materials used for their construction and how much they cost?
Concrete Fair 2020 brings you CONtractor, an event based on Estimation and Costing. It
comprises of 3 rounds of competition to test your estimation skills. The primary motive of this
event is to optimize the material usage to get the most effective estimate for the construction
of the plan provided, without compromising the serviceability of the building.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge on:
i Estimation and Costing of structures
ii Building construction materials and planning
iii Area and volume calculation
iv Bar bending schedule

6.CONstorming
Event description:
CONstorming is a startup-based event filled with enthusiasm to come up with ideas and
stimulate the innovator inside us. The event will consist of 3 rounds and would be concerned
about brainstorming solutions to the problems faced in the construction and other civil-related
sectors due to the recent setbacks caused by the pandemic globally.
Event 1
Innovative ideas are to be articulated in the form of a report (following the template given by
us). The report is supposed to answer the following questions in addition to a brief point of
view of the participants:
1. What is the idea about?
2. How can it be helpful in this current scenario?
3. How can it be implemented?
Judging criteria
• How best the report addresses the problems in the construction/civil-related industry during
the time of the pandemic.
• How well the described solutions will solve current problems.
• Uniqueness in the described idea/solution.
• Check for Plagiarism.

Event 3
This will be the most challenging round of this event. The participating teams would be each
given a problem statement related to the event theme and would be required to ideate a solution
of the given problem in the most innovative, feasible, and efficient method they could think of.
Judging criteria-
• How the team aims to gear up new solutions for the received problem.
• The situational and economic feasibility of the solution provided.
• How creatively the team describes the solution example-Usage of visuals, clippings,
