Seth is 2/3 of his way through NCEA Level 2 year at Tauranga

Boys College for Year 12. He has been navigating the
challenges of online learning and playing catch up to gain his
Level 2 credits. His 17th birthday is just around the corner and
he is doing well. Seth has taken a keen interest in volleyball
and has been a regular attendee in the Seniors School Team at
Tauranga Boys College. I am also dropping him off at Papamoa
College 3 days a week for volleyball at 6:30am. He is keen
and enthusiastic so will support him in this positive activity.
Ella is well through her Yr. 11 at Bethlehem College with
her NCEA Level 1 exams coming up in November. Ella has
been regularly involved with Bethlehem Baptist youth on
a Wednesday and Oxygen youth group at Tauranga ELIM
on a Friday. She also practiced for months to participate
and compete in a National dance competition held at
Baycourt where the BC school team won in their chosen
category. She really lights up and comes alive when she
gets on the stage. Ella also is keen to join a Hip-hop group
which BC students have pioneered. They are hoping to
enter competitions throughout 2021. Ella will be turning
16 in December. Our youngest is quickly growing up.

Bay of Plenty Youth Development
In Term 3, Amped4Life had the privilege of being invited to Tauranga Boxing Academy – Bay of Plenty Youth
Development by Anton Van Dyk, Craig Nees, and Andre Jay. We sat and discussed how we could support this
amazing organisation which seeks to mentor and support and help create better pathways for our Rangatahi.

The TBA (Tauranga Boxing Academy) was the brainchild of local businessman Craig Nees who could see a
need for a program to empower and provide opportunities for our youth to become the best versions of
themselves by “giving kids hope”

We delivered 3 sessions over a month period as part of their pilot program, before they start recruiting
larger numbers for several courses throughout 2020 and beyond.

Thanks Team for the opportunity to come and input into these fine young men. Look forward to ongoing
opportunities with many more youth who enrol with the Academy.

IBA Team- Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust

“It gives us great pleasure to endorse the work that Pat Buckley from Amped4Life has undertaken on our behalf in the IBA (Imagine, Believe,
Achieve) programme. IBA was established as a programme for at risk youth and is attached to the Tauranga Boxing Academy. Both
programmes are under the auspices of the Bay of Plenty Youth Development Trust.”

“Pat has delivered three two-hour presentations to the IBA students, and each time has cleverly referred to his own life experiences to
provide life lessons to the boys. His messages about drug and alcohol use are clear, important, and always well delivered.”

The presentations are a mix of great story telling, brilliant support slides, and homilies that are credible, interesting and valuable. The
stories come from his own life experiences, which make them all the more authentic. A valuable and valued experience.

“I would like to thank Pat Buckley from Amped4Life for coming to Rangiora New Life School and talking to our Year 9 and 10 students this
week. He was able to connect with our students in a way that was honest and real.

Pat has a passion to educate about not only the dangers, but how to deal with those things that are out there facing our youth today. He has
an inspirational message about his own life, but also challenges students to make good decisions in their own lives. Pat delivered his message
in a way that made people think about the consequences of making poor choices and kept the audience captivated.
He left the students and staff with a feeling of hope and inspiration. We cannot wait to have him back to talk to our students in the future.”

“Hi Pat, I was at your talk last night in Rangiora Town Hall and just want to acknowledge what an amazing story and testimony you
share in such a troubling teenage world of drugs, alcohol and social media. You are such a ray of hope and light and I am so grateful to
you and your cause.
I know there are parents in our community who need to hear your message and I feel the urge to connect with as many as I can, to help
them understand the huge impact of drugs and alcohol on our Tamariki. Please keep doing what you do, it will help so many Who need
to hear the truth. Feeling grateful to you”
