Definition :
Local Maladies are type of one sided diseases where ailment appear on
the external parts of the body as defensive mechanism of the vital force.

Introduction :
I) Allopathic Concept of Local diseases
The prevalent idea in the old schools that these superficial parts alone morbility
affected and rest of the body did not participate in the disease which has
increased to the most disastrous medical treatment.

II) Homoeoapthic concept of Local disease :

1) Strictly speaking no disease can be local, but there are some
circumstances when certain external sysmptoms predomite over others.
This creates the confusion about their true systemic characteristics.
2) Even acts and wounds which appears as a local matter do not remain
local when whole living organisms or entire system sufferes. Then there
occur fever or parn.
3) When external or surgical means such as cleansing of wound, making a
drainage, blocking a vessel, tractions to reduced the dislocation,
introducing a pump to draw the poison etc are the treatment which
becomes mechanical.

Origin and Source of Local Melodies : The source of local malodies are
interesting for study. The vital force as it is unintelligent and instinctive element
cannot overcome a disease by its own efforts by its own efforts specially in
chronic miasmatic cases.
This position creates a real war luturan the disease force and lime force.
In this war the disease force tries to invade the vital organs slowly.
The vital force whose domain is to maintain the body in living condition
attempt to push it out and thus the disease cause energy appears on less and less
vital organs when it proceeds on external lesion in curated.

In this way local maladies are nothing but attempt on the parts of the vital force
to maintain the central life current comparatively free of obstruction because of
this arrangement the vital organs are less burdened and continued easy life
become possible.
4) Classification

Surgical Disease Dynamic Disease appearing on the

surface of the body
Out side cause solely on external Cause lies in some internal malady
injury (Aph.186) (Aph. 187)

Treatment
A) Treatment of Local Surgical Disease :
Each branch of medicine has its limitations and scope. We got some cases
where homoeopathy will not work. In homoeopathy the scope of treatment is
primarily related to the dynamic pathology of disease not the organ pathology or
structural deformity of the organ.
Dr. Hahnemann has given certain principle to know the cases where
homoeopathy has the limitation he has made it very clear in surgical and palliate
method of treatment .
E.g. 1) In cases of severe injuries where whole organism suffers and there
occurs fever
The treatment of such disease is requirement of surgery but only affected part
requires surgical treatment.

2) Dr. Hahnemann adviced that the surgical treatment where mechanical

destruction originating from massive growth or destruction origion of the organ.
In these cases dynamic medicine cannot help.

B) Treatment of Non Surgical local Disease :

When the real internal nature of local disease is realised it stands to
reason that its treatment should always be done.
It indicates a chain of events where each symptoms or sign has its own
value which should be properly looked into the merit to mark out the peculiarity
and characteristic points.
