Install
1. Install the correct EGM software.
2. Configure the jumpers on the SPC2.5 board. See table below.
3. Install the correct firmware FLASH Chip into chip socket U19 on the SPC2.5.
4. Connect the SPC2.5 board to the EGM. Appropriate harness goes from the Mk6/Gen7 back plane to P2 on the
SPC2.5 board.
5. Using the appropriate harness, connect the primary system to P4 on the SPC2.5 board.
6. If a secondary system is being connected (for example, EZ-Pay), connect the secondary system to P3 on the
SPC2.5 board.
7. Plug in a 24 volt power supply to connector J7 (recommended) or 5 volt power supply to J5.
8. Clear the non-volatile battery-backed RAM:
a. Insert a link on the J8 (CLR) jumper.
b. Power up the board to initialize the RAM (indicated by quick flashing of the LED).
c. Remove the link on J8.
d. Power cycle the SPC board for normal operation (indicated by flashing 5 times per second of the LED).

LEDs
LD11
Green LED indicating power. This LED is not possible to control with software and is on when there is power
supplied to the board.
LD10
The SPC2.5 board has a yellow LED (located by U19 the Program Chip (see graphic above)) that is controlled by
the application firmware. The yellow status LED will show the same flashing sequences as was used on the SPC2.
On start-up the LED will be pulsed 3 times on and off. If both communication ports (P2 and Primary port P4) are
successfully working and a link has been established with the other end (EGM and Host respectively), then the LED
will be continually pulsed on/off regularly (approx. 5 on/off cycles per second).
LD9
*
The red LED can be controlled by your application software. The red LED shows errors and can be turned on by
the driver as well. For example the red LED will start flashing if the battery is low. If the board does not boot at all it
will be on constantly.
LD1-8
The SPC2.5 board has two LEDs per port (Green for receive line and Yellow for transmit). The green and yellow
LEDs on each port indicate which port and in which direction the port is working. These TX and RX LEDs do not
light up by the actual byte transmitted, but rather keep on flashing at a pre-determined rate for as long as there is
traffic happening. When an error is detected, the LED will be pulsed a specific number of times to indicate the error
code. The error pulsing occurs in an on/off pattern where each on pulse lasts approximately 200 milliseconds (a
fifth of a second), followed by a distinct pause before repeating the same number of pulses.
