SERIAL PROTOCOL CONVERTER II (SPC2) SETUP

SETUP AND CONFIGURATION

1. Install EGM firmware (A4.1.1 or higher) and set the Comms Protocol to Gamma.
a. When using A4.1.1 or A4.2 firmware;
i. Set the Machine ID in the Game Machine Options menu to 1 plus a 5-digit
house number, i.e. 132572 or 102468 (insert zeros for a total of six digits).
b. When using A4.2.1 or newer firmware;
i. Set the SPC ID Number in the SPC Configuration menu to 1.
2. Install the proper version of GamSAS2 firmware into SPC2 socket U3.
a. Connect the EGM to the SPC2 using cable US1003.
EGM backplane P19 (BDACOM) and P23 (COM2/COM4/MIKOHN)
SPC2 connectors H2 (EGM Comms) and H8 (power).
3. Initialize the SPC2 non-volatile SRAM.
a. Insert a jumper linking J2-11 with J2-13.
b. Apply power and wait until the LED flickers rapidly.
c. Remove power.
d. Remove jumper.
e. Apply power.

LED FLASH CODES

Flicker (10 pps) Memory has been cleared.
Flash (5 pps) Normal operation
1 – pause No comms on H2 (EGM).
2 – pause No comms on H3 (AUX (Lottery, EZ-Pay, etc.)).
3 – pause No comms on H4 (system).
4 – pause NOV-SRAM error.
5 – pause Invalid EGM SAS-poll address.

CONNECTORS
H2, H3 & H4 are AMP MTA100x5 (640457-5 or 640440-5 w/ 640642-5)
Pin 2 is TXD
Pin 3 is RXD
Pin 5 is GND
H8 is AMP MTA156x2 (644611-2)
Pin 1 is +5VDC
PIN 2 IS GND

2 – pause No comms on H3 (n/u). 3. Apply power
3 – pause No comms on H4 (system). 4. Wait for LED flicker (10pps)
4 – pause NOV-SRAM error. 5. Remove power
5 – pause Invalid EGM SAS-poll address. 6. Remove jumper
7. Apply power
