Objective:- By the end of this chapter students will be able to :-

 Identify good food habits.

Good Food Habits

It means eating a variety of foods that give us the nutrients, which we need to maintain our health,
weight, gives us energy and keeps us physically active.

 Eating different types of vegetables, fruits,

grains, pulses, milk, protein foods (including

eggs, poultry, fish, meat, nuts, seeds etc.)

should always be a part of our daily food.

Such type of diet helps us to grow properly

and also protects us from diseases.

 We must take our meals at proper time every

day.

 We should drink plenty of water as it helps in maintaining body temperature, keeps us healthy,

flushes the out the waste materials etc.

We should not eat too much fried food and sweets, such as:

 Chocolates.
 Ice-creams.
 Candies.
 Cold drinks
 Fries etc.

Such food items are unhealthy as they makes us fat and also
damage our teeth.

We should not eat:

 Spoiled or smelly food.


 Uncovered food.
 Food bought from street seller or hawker.
