Dear editor
I am writing in response to your advertisement. There are a number of things I would like to ask.
First of all, I would like to know more about the date. Could you let me know when exactly the
competition will be held. Secondly, could you tell me which country's committee comes from.
Finally, you mentioned that only a few members will be in each team. Could you tell me how
many members will be selected. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours faithfully
Some people think that teachers should give advice to school children which profession to
choose. Do you agree or disagree with this option? State your opinion and support with reasons
and examples.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, other people's opinions can impact children into choosing career that they don't
want. We may not realize it but our words carry so much power. Even if it is just an advice child
may perceive it as e is not gonna be good enough in the career that he had in his mind and go
with the other one well it seems as it is good that he choose the career that might be more
suitable with him but he will most likely not enjoy it because it is what other people think he
would do and not himself.
Secondly, teachers don't know students well enough to make such important decisions.
Well mostly teachers see children only in school which means that the only factor in which that
can measure what career child should take is the child's academic performance in subjects. I
think that these factors do not give you a certain enough picture of how a child can perform in
certain careers.
To sum up, I think that teachers should not have a say in child career choice. Because it is an
important decision which makes or breaks their future and teachers should not take such a big
responsibility.
