As can be seen from the R-chart, the variation within the samples is very much in control and hence we
can say that the process is precise. However, we can see from the x-bar chart that the process output is
not only alternatingly high and low but also some of the sample averages are above and below the
Lower control limit and upper control limit. Many points are also above the Upper specification limit
(33+0.8mm). This calls for evaluation of the process to find and assignable cause of variation.
