he Elms was developed with much
dedication by its founders John and
Marion Kinch in the late 1970s.
From its origins as a holiday park,
John set his sights on transforming the park to
residential. As with any major development,
there was a lot of work and cost involved.
With a young family to also consider, John
took a job working in the local coal mines,
where he not only progressed in his role there,
but also developed the infrastructure of the
park at the same time.
The park is truly a credit to John, Marion
and his family that today maintains extremely
high standards. Being set in 65 acres with 339
homes, this park lives up to its popular
description of being a ‘village’ and has secure
gates to the entrance.

February counterpart, there’s still plenty for
showgoers to get excited about.
There were homes from Willerby, Wessex,
Swift and Omar to whet the appetite, plus a
shell stand with some friendly Tingdene faces
in attendance.
PARK LIFE
There were a few parks also there too, including
Allens Caravans so, for those looking at

interesting subjects.
So what was around and were showgoers
impressed?
