T h e tact t h a t G o d ' s c a l l i n g u p o n o u r l i v e s i s p r e d e -
termined highlights a principle concerning callings
that is often m i s u n d e r s t o o d , a n d that i s : " G o d calls
i n t o b e i n g t h a t w h i c h d o e s n o t e x i s t " ( R o m . 4:17c).
