PAST SIMPLE

 USE
o We use the past simple for actions happened in the past and
for past habits.

 REGULAR VERBS
o Verbs end in –e , we add a –d. E.g. Live  Lived
o Verbs end in –y, we change y to i and add –ed. E.g. Try 
tried.
o Verbs end in consonant, vowel, consonant, we double the
final consonant. E.g. Stop  Stopped.

 IRREGULAR VERBS
o You need to learn the pas simple form.

 PATTERNS

(Affirmative) +  Subject + verb + ed (regular verbs)/ Subject + past

simple form (irregular verbs)

(Negative) -  Subject + did not + infinitive

(Interrogative) ?  Did + subject + infinitive
