Brand positioning refers to “target consumer’s” reason to buy your brand in preference to others.
It is ensures that all brand activity has a common aim; is guided, directed and delivered by the
brand’s benefits/reasons to buy; and it focuses at all points of contact with the consumer.
In order to create a position strategy, you must first identify your brand’s uniqueness and
determine what differentiates you from your competition. A brand is a product, group of
products or company name with a unique, consistent and well-recognized character. The
uniqueness can come either from a factual product or from its image - uniquely created by the
manufacturer through advertising and packaging. The consistency comes mainly from the
uniformity of its quality and performance, but it is also reflected in the advertising and
packaging.

Current marketing situation

Market description
Increased popularity of smart LED TVs has affected also the cable TV market. Jamuna TV
ensures strict compliance with international standards and local regulatory. Especially in
Bangladesh, people are now concern about more then watching dish channel to internet. So the
growing demand for online streaming has opened opportunities for us to sell Jamuna smart LED
TV.
As there is a huge trend of watching smart TVs in our country, the number of people seeking the
technology which is low budget comparing the SONY, LG or etc companies TV which are more
energy saving. As people started adopting this technology so it is leading us to a rapid growing
smart TV market in our country.

Target Marketing Strategy


Target market means the targeting the consumers. Consumers with similar or the same needs that
most businesses target their effort for marketing so sell their product to those customers.

Jamuna TV targets a very wide range in our country are ranging normal day to day
usage devices to industrial standard equipment. The usual target age group of

customers range from the 18s to 60s or even older. As long as the person has the
ability to purchasing a TV or making to the decision for purchasing a Smart TV.

Competitive Review

WALTON

Walton TV is the bigger competitor of Jamuna TV. They are growing their business with
high resolution smart TV like 55" 4k-SMART TV.
It has full HD-4k technology that take the vewing into an exciting new era. Scense are analyxed
and matched with special image database for supremely lifetime detail.

This smart tv has graphics processor Mali450 and 1GB of ram. It has 16:19 screen ratio and
3840 x 2160/60 Hz 4k Resolution.
They are also available in a lot of store in Bangladesh. For this product they set the price is
1,10,00 taka.

Another competitor of Jamuna TV is Vision TV from RFL Electronics. In recent year they
produced VISION LED Smart 4K TV. It has got all the options that a Smart TV should have.
The 3D viewing experience is awesome. Wide screen option also works well with Smartphone.

production cost so that our product’s price is very reasonable. The product strategy tells the team

strategy is to align executives and other key stakeholders around how the product will achieve
the high level business objectives. It also provides the product manager with a clear direction to
guide the team through implementation and to communicate the value of the product to cross
functional teams such as sales, marketing, and support.

Penetration Pricing Strategy:


The aim of penetration pricing is usually to increase market share of a product, providing the
opportunity to increase price once this objective has been achieved.

Penetration pricing is the pricing technique of setting a relatively low initial entry price, usually
lower than the intended established price, to attract new customers. The strategy aims to
encourage customers to switch to the new product because of the lower price. Low prices
encourage the word-of-mouth advertising for a product, therefore any promo activity becomes
more efficient.

Penetration pricing is most commonly associated with a marketing objective of increasing


market share or sales volume. In the short term, penetration pricing is likely to result in lower
profits than would be the case if price were set higher. However, there are some significant
benefits to long-term profitability of having a higher market share, so the pricing strategy can
often be justified. Penetration pricing is often used to support the launch of a new product, and
works best when a product enters a market with relatively little product differentiation and where
demand is price elastic – so a lower price than rival products is a competitive weapon.
We are setting a low price for our new product in order to attract a large number of buyers and a
large market share. We will set low and reasonable price for our products. So that buyers will
be interested to buy our products. It helps to increase our sells and also increase our market
share. We will always try to beat our competitors by giving quality product at low price to our
buyers. Because our main target is increase sells and increases the percentage of our market
share.

Amongst the advantages claimed for penetration pricing include :

Distribution Strategy

Distribution Channel:

Distribution or set of intermediaries is to pass finished or semi-finished goods from producers to


the final consumer. A distribution channel can include wholesalers, retailers, distributors and
even the Internet. Channels are broken into direct and indirect forms, with a "direct" channel or
zero level channel allowing the consumer to buy the good from the manufacturer and an
"indirect" channel or one/multi-level channel allowing the consumer to buy the good from a
wholesaler or through a channel of distribution. Jamuna Electronics has a countrywide retail
sales outlets andservice point‟s network.

Distribution or Marketing channel systems:

In cases where a marketer utilizes more than one distribution design, then the marketer is
following a multi-channel or hybrid distribution system. As we discussed earlier in this report,
Jamuna undertakes both independent channels (conventional distribution system) and dependent
channels (vertical distribution system) for their product to reach to its final consumers. Jamuna
has authorized distributors who distribute the cell phones to retailers and then the retailers hand
the products to the end consumers. On the other hand, it also uses its own Jamuna showrooms
where they deliver their product directly from their production place to sell it to the consumers
through its own experienced and satisfactory way.

Number of intermediaries:

Many producers do not sell products or services directly to consumers but instead use marketing
intermediaries to execute an array of necessary functions to get the product to the final consumer.
These intermediaries, such as middlemen (wholesalers, retailers, agents, and brokers),
distributors, typically develop a firm committal bond that builds in the one channel or multi-
channel marketing chain. The marketing intermediaries are:

1. Intensive distribution

2. Selective distribution

3. Exclusive distribution

Jamuna Electronics limited uses selective distribution, which is in between intensive and
exclusive distribution. Selective distribution involves more than one but less than mass
distribution.

As mentioned above in the report that Jamuna TV are a shopping product and thus, the most
appropriate way to Jamuna TV in the existing Bangladeshi market is to have selective capable
distributors to acknowledge the market requirement for their products and make the products
availability convenient for the consumers. For example, Dhaka is a densely populated district of
Bangladesh and thus need large number of shops to have Jamuna TV’sproducts that is enough
products is accessible already in the market for the potential buyers.

Communication and Promotion strategy

Communication will be a vital part of Jamuna’s promotion of LED TV. LED TV will be a high-
tech product that will be newly introduce to the market and is still in very early stages of the
maturing phase. The communication plan will help break barriers and gradually penetrate into
the market so the product can be familiarized. The communication plan will be important to
provide information for the early adopters and tech enthusiast. The survey indicate that a higher
percentage of consumers are tech enthusiast and willing adopters for new technology and
consumer also have a need to have the latest technology.

In order to familiarize LED TV in the market, establishing a good communication plan is vital to
the marketing strategy and the market plan. LED TV is high-tech product and when released it
will be a product with cost in the upper range. With the LED TV product having upper range
cost, the consumer will be careful when investing in high-tech and high cost product. They will
be researching and seeking information that will justify and assure confidence of their product
purchase decision. The communication strategy for Jamuna is to have as much control of
information as possible that will provide the necessary information and positive reviews in all
sources of public source of information starting with the web. Jamuna plans to focus influencing
the sources of information of the web in the digital marketing strategy, and continue influencing
the sources of information in the traditional analog marketing strategy.

Digital Marketing and the Web:

Samsung will be utilizing the web and digital marketing strategy as form of communication with
customers. Using the web provide and effective tools for determining customer relationship and
sharing information to mass audiences. Jamuna’s website in Consumer product for television.

Jamuna will also be using its website to publish press and news release as online public relation
that can be accessible to customer and will publish updates and information on blogs. Jamuna’s

Social Media Networking:

With growing popularity of social media networking sites and applets, using social media will be
an effective tool to reach millions of customers. Social media sites such as Facebook have grown
with 1 billion users. Facebook will be used to provide online presence and exposure of Jamuna
LED TV and Jamuna branding as a source of delivering information, maintaining customer
relationship, marketing and promoting product events, advertisement, and an effective form of
communicating. Using Facebook’s online advertisement tool will also be tool for advertisement.

Online advertising solution can reach massive audiences and establish presence and influence
over the web. Jamuna will use interactive advertisement that responds to customer and provides
visual depiction of LED TV. Web media advertisement will be used for promoting LED TV and
be advertising through famous video streaming sites like YouTube, Vimeo and Daily Motion.
Google ad also provides online advertisement through the Google search engine.

Magazine and Media advertisement:

Traditional advertisement by ads and reviews in magazines will reach wide ranges of audience
from general to niche audiences in various subjects. Televisions commercial newspaper and
radio advertisement will also be traditional strategy to reach audiences. These are the more
expensive means of advertisement but can be the most effective methods of advertisement.

Sales person and public relations:

Sale person will be the most expensive solution on promotion but it can be an effective solution
that allows physical and social relationship with customers. Sales people can be effective
approach by using sales tactics and marketing strategies to persuade and communicate with
customers on selling Jamuna LED TV. This will present both visual and aural persuasion,
communication, and promotion to customers. Public relations will be another strategy to promote
Jamuna LED TV to mass audience. This would happen through trade shows, events, and
sponsorship.
