Activities to Develop:

Step 1: Preparation
Check all Required and Additional Bibliographic References for Unit 1.
Each student must choose 1 of the following topics. Inform about the
topic you chose in the forum so that no topics are repeated among
students.
a. Wealthy people should share their goods with poorer people.
b. Voting on a new subject: Which one to include in the
curriculum?
c. Why parents should vaccinate their children?
d. E-learning is getting more powerful than a traditional education.
e. Boys and girls should study in separate classes.

Step 2: Prewriting Strategy

Use the prewriting strategy named brainstorming to generate ideas
about the topic you chose and share it in the forum. Think about at
least three reasons for your topic.
Step 3: Thesis Statement
Based on the ideas you generated from Step 2, write a Thesis
Statement for your chosen topic. Remember that a thesis statement
tells the reader how you will interpret the significance of the subject
matter under discussion. It is a road map for the paper; in other
words, it tells the reader what to expect from the rest of the paper.
Share your Thesis Statement directly in the forum.
Check some examples of well-written Thesis Statements:
