The erstwhile AIEEE exam is replaced by the JEE-Main exam, and erstwhile IIT-JEE has
now become the JEE-Advanced exam. The candidates who pass the JEE Main exam are
eligible to appear in the JEE Advance Exam. JEE Main examination is held twice a year in
online mode.
JEE Main is conducted for admission into the top NITs (National Institutes of
Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology), and some other
universities. In other words, it is for those candidates who are seeking admission to BE
or B.Tech courses in the NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs)
and engineering colleges of the participating states. Furthermore, it is also the eligibility
test for the JEE Advanced exam, which is meant to admission in IITs or the Indian
School of Mines (ISM).
The JEE Main comprises two papers Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for those candidates
who want admission in BE and B.Tech courses. Paper 2 is for those who want admission
in B.Arch and B.Planning courses. However, the candidates are required to specify for
which paper they want to appear either Paper 1 or Paper 2 or both.
JEE Advanced is a paper-based test. The candidates are required to appear in both the
papers 1 & 2 in this exam. The candidates can appear for the JEE Main exam for three
consecutive years but can appear for JEE Advanced exams only for two consecutive
years.
NEET has replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and the other medical entrance
exams conducted by the states or individual colleges. It has saved the time, energy, and
money of the students as earlier they had to fill different forms for different medical
entrance exams in India. However, some renowned medical colleges like AIIMS, JIPMER,
and PGIMER are still conducting their own medical entrance exams as these are
established under separate laws.
NEET UG:
NEET UG (NEET undergraduate) examination was held for the first time on 5 May 2013.
The NEET-UG 2019 was held on 5 May, in a single session and an offline mode (pen and
paper) as usual. Its duration was 3 hours, and it had multiple-choice questions. The
medium was English, Hindi, and many other regional languages like Tamil, Telugu,
Oriya, etc.
The paper had three sections: Physics with 45 questions, Chemistry with 45 questions,
and Biology (Botany and Zoology) with 90 questions. So, there were a total of 180
questions, and as each question was of four marks, the exam was of 720 marks. For
each correct answer, the candidate would get 4 marks, and for each wrong answer, 1
mark (25%) will be deducted. The result was declared on its official site on 5 June 2019.
NEET PG:
NEET Postgraduate Examination, which is also known as the Common Entrance Test
(CET), and is intended for admission to post-graduate medical courses offered by various
medical institutes or colleges in India.
NEET PG 2018 exam was conducted in online mode (computer-based mode). The
duration of the exam was 3 hours 30 minutes. The question paper was divided into three
sections: Part A with 50 questions, Part B with 100 questions, and Part C with 150
questions. It was conducted on a single day and in a single session. The language of the
question paper was English.
NET is the minimum standard for teaching professional and research field. This exam is
conducted in many subjects i.e. Computer Science and Engineering, Computer
application, Social Science, Forensic Science, History, Political Science, Sociology,
Anthropology Home Science, Education, Law, and many more as well as literature
subjects like Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Rajasthani, Marathi, Gujarati, Spanish, French,
Japanese etc.
The examination for science subjects is conducted by UGC CSIR NET. It is the Council for
Scientic and Industrial Research.
Objectives
The main objective of this examination is to find the students for university level
lectureship and for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
