A 90-Day Plan Worksheet
This worksheet will guide you through creating a 90-day leadership plan based on the
accompanying guide. This can be printed or filled out digitally.

Day 0 Actions/Questions
Put a few items on your calendar:
• Day 30 – Transition to 2nd month
• Day 60 – Transition to 3rd month
• Day 90 – End of 90 days, go/no-go decision (schedule time with boss)

Describe your feelings about stepping away from technical work.

Write about your willingness to embrace/own uncomfortable tasks


involving other people.

Who is your Boss, and what do they expect of you in this role? How will
you communicate with him/her regularly?

Who is on your team? What do you think they need from you as a leader?
How will you communicate with them regularly?

Write about your peers and how you will communicate with them.

Days 1-30 Actions/Questions


Put a few items on your calendar:
• Regular 1:1 meetings with each of your team members
• Appropriate team meetings/standups for whole team communication
• Regular “Leadership Learning” time – schedule it in every week, if not every day
• Meetings with mentor(s) to learn from others

Plan Your Learning – What resources, books, articles, or courses will you
be using? List them here.

Who are your mentors? If you don’t have one yet, write down three
names and make plans to reach out to them.

Days 31-60 Actions/Questions


Create your “Activity Cycle” – what actions do you need to regularly do
daily, weekly, and monthly?

Make a list of all meetings on your calendar. Are they all necessary?
Consider which ones you can cancel or stop attending.

Reflect: How are your 1:1 meetings going? Are they effective? How can
you improve them? Are you giving them enough time?

Days 61-90 Actions/Questions


List each team member, their strengths, and how you will utilize them.
