MY MISSION

In all my years of existence, I cannot count how many times I have wondered and ask
myself what my purpose in this life is. Especially in times of trials and problems, it’s hard to see
and understand why I was given this life. However, in times of enlightenment, I cannot fail to
see the beauty of God’s gift of life to me. I see His creation, the wonders of nature and the good
in people, which drives me to continue to live on with positivity despite all the pain I have gone
through. I see my life as a blessing and that I have a purpose according to God’s plan, no matter
how small my existence is in this wide world with billions of people. I have no way to assure
what that plan is but I believe that I live to care for the good of other people and for nature, not
only for myself. We were created in His likeness and I think it is my mission to be more like Him
and follow His example. He taught us to love and do good, which are the things I aspire for as a
person and as a child of God.

In order to fulfill my goal or mission in life, I do my best to use what I have been given to
help others especially those who are in need. I don’t think only for my self-interest but I try to
consider others’ sake in my actions. Instead of wishing for material things and envying others,
which are so prevalent in today’s generation, I strive to work with what I have in order to do
more to help without the expense of sacrificing my relationships with others, myself, and our
environment. I also try to give back to my parents who are one of His greatest gifts to me by
being a dutiful daughter and lessening their burdens as much as I can. As a Christian, I have
been taught about God and our beliefs from a young age by our church, my family, in school
and through the help of other people. I also hope to inspire other people to believe in Him and
strengthen their faith through my kind actions and by doing good things.

If I have an immediate mission in life today, it would be to strengthen my faith and help
other people especially in this pandemic we are facing right now. This is a time of trial and it is
these times that we are much in need of each other. It is a test of our faith because it is when
we are suffering hardships that we have to do more and cope with the crisis. I have the chance
to improve myself by strengthening my beliefs and not succumb to the temptations and
negative things in life brought by this situation right now. My mission is important to me
because I believe it is God’s purpose for giving me life. It gives my life meaning and motivates
me to keep doing the best I can. Without it, there is no joy and fulfillment when I am just
pursuing meaningless and selfish things. In order to concretely strengthen my faith, I have to
start with myself first by steadfastly praying to God, for His guidance and benevolence, and
going to church to listen to His teachings. I also have to show this in action by helping others
even in the simplest ways. Kind words of assurance, connecting to people through
communication, support and companionship are priceless things that I can offer to help other
people. In my home, I do the household chores and study or do my assignments diligently
without too much complaints. Aside from donating what I can give to others, I will offer my
services when it is needed, whether it is in the community or online, as long as I can do it.
Lastly, I will do these things wholeheartedly.
