to fasten valve prosthesis in an
ideal way
Topester is a finely woven non-absor-
bable polyester suture with high tensile
strength and smooth handling features.
Its surface structure allows optimal knot
positioning while keeping the knots
tight. Using a special silicone coating
it ensures a low friction passage
and eliminates practically the natural
capillary effect. Through its excellent
handling features when fetching
and handing the suture by the staff to
the surgeon Topester allows for optimal
surgery safety.

Strong connection for
sternum closure
Topsteel is a high-quality monofilament
stainless steel or titanium wire, fixed
both with stainless steel needles. Their
bending strength and special sharpened
shape ensure optimal tissue penetration
and stability. Use of titanium or poly-
ester suture is recommended in cases
of chromium or nickel intolerance.
Sternum wires with smaller diameter
are available for pediatric cardiac surgery.
Topsteel sternum wires are packaged either
in a straight, stretched form in long boxes
or wound in standard boxes.

effect. High tensile strength. 5 days after implantation approximately 60% of its

usable in a multifunctional way and
have excellent tissue tolerability. To
ensure the applicability for the most
common tissue types and operation
needs, the pledgets are available
in three formats (oval, rectangular
or circular).
Pledgets are available as PTFE felt (soft
or hard) and ePTFE membrane.
Several models feature ready-made
sutures. In addition to the standard product
line Santec also manufactures pledget
formats according to client specifications.

Highest reliability for chordae
replacement or reconstruction at
the mitral valve
The Chordae Loop is a non-absorbable
implant for chordae repair/replacement
used for mitral valve reconstruction. The
pre-assembled implant enables utmost
safety based on a total control of the
loop strength.
The 4-loop-pledget is directly sutured onto
the papillary muscle using a second pledget
as a support. The loops are attached to the
valvular leaflets with head seams.
