Runaway Granny is Grand Theft Bandit

Ninety- two year-old Amachin Booker of Creedon’s Home, has been identified as the Grand
theft auto bandit. Booker who was missing from her LBI home for eight weeks was caught red
handed on Monday February 23rd, in the Botanical Gardens tampering with the locks of a Range
Rover belonging to a Mr. Victor Moon. Mr. Moon said he and his Girlfriend were sitting under
the Benab, when they noticed the older woman standing by the vehicle. “At first I thought it was
a mistake, we both thought so but when Anjie (his girlfriend) noticed the woman purposely
pulling and trying to get the lock open we immediately got up.” Eye witnesses said they saw the
woman walking around the gardens and appeared to have taken interest in the vehicle and its
occupants when they drove in. Upon leaving the vehicle Anjie said she noticed the woman
watching but paid her no mind. Mr. Moon said he went up to the woman to ask questions, when
she became angry and hit him with her purse. Police were summoned and arrived 25 minutes
later. According to police reports the 92-year-old confessed her crimes and has since apologized.
She is expected to return to court on March 17TH.”
