Here are the questions:
1. What are the different types of fiber connectors? Cite their advantages and
disadvantages.
-ST Connector, FC Connector, LC Connector, SC Connector, MTP
Connector, MU Connector, D4 Connector, ESCON Connector, FDDI
Connector, Biconic Connector, SMA 905 & 906 Connector.

The amount of information that can be transmitted per unit time of fiber
over other transmission media is its most significant advantage. Fiber optic
cables are immune to electromagnetic interference. It can also be run in
electrically noisy environments without concern as electrical noise will not
affect fiber. Optical fibers are difficult to tap. As they do not radiate
electromagnetic energy, emissions cannot be intercepted. As physically
tapping the fiber takes great skill to do undetected, fiber is the most secure
medium available for carrying sensitive data. But fiber connectors also have
disadvantages. The fiber optic cable is a small and compact cable, and it is
highly susceptible to becoming cut or damaged during installation or
construction activities. The fiber optic cables can provide tremendous data
transmission capabilities. So, when the fiber optic cabling is chosen as the
transmission medium, it is necessary to address restoration, backup and
survivability. The optical fibers are difficult to splice, and there are loss of
the light in the fiber due to scattering. They have limited physical arc of
cables. If you bend them too much, they will break.
2. List down the different types of connectors.
- The different types of connectors are
Parallel/Printer
CN36 (female) This is the connector you see on the back of most
printers.CN36 (male) This is the connector used by most printer
cables.USB type "A" connector. Connects to computer or USB Hub.USB
type "B" connector. Connects to peripheral or to USB Hub.
3. What are the characteristics of utp, stp and coaxial cable?
-UTP stands for Unshielded Twisted Pair cable. UTP cable is a 100 ohm
copper cable that consists of 2 to 1800 unshielded twisted pairs
surrounded by an outer jacket. They have no metallic shield. This makes
the cable small in diameter but unprotected against electrical interference.
-STP is similar to UTP but with each pair covered by an additional copper
braid jacket or foil wrapping. This shielding helps protect the signals on the
cables from external interference. STP is more expensive than UTP but has
the benefit of being able to support higher transmission rates over longer
distances.
-Coaxial cable conducts electrical signal using an inner conductor (usually
a solid copper, stranded copper or copper plated steel wire) surrounded by
an insulating layer and all enclosed by a shield, typically one to four layers
of woven metallic braid and metallic tape.
