    Following are the part of speech and their examples:

    part of speech function or "job" example sentences

    Verb action or state The singer at the Opera sang so well.

    Noun thing or person Ali went to shopping on Sunday.

    Adjective describes a noun I have a beautiful white rabbit.

    Determiner limits or "determines" a noun I ate two loafs of bread with some cheese.

    Adverb describes a verb, adjective or Hassan is a very intelligent boy. He works


    adverb really hard aswell.

    Pronoun replaces a noun Ali is 11 years old. He sings very well.

    Preposition links a noun to another word The kids went to the park with their parents.
