Supporting Children’s Emotional and Academic Learning during a Pandemic

Amidst of the Covid- 19 outbreak, education must continue. Teachers, students and
parents may struggle with significant adjustment to their routines. That is why I found the
webinar a very helpful information on how are we going to support the learners emotional and
academic learning during this pandemic.
Here are the key understanding that I learned about the topic; the importance of active
learning with a healthy body and mind; the motivation and positive engagement favour academic
learning, it helps the learners becomes strong, confident and independent; form positive
relationships, show sensitivity to others need and feelings; keep instructions short; learning is
everywhere; adapting learning for different ages; remember quality over quantity; and create a
very fun activity that gets everyone at home involved.
As a realization, it is important to us, as an educator to transfer familiar routines and
relationships from the classroom to your schools chosen modality of learning. As the speaker
said, “Enjoy It! Keep your own children’s happiness, health and well-being above everything.
