1 DESCRIPTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION

The UCM control system plate is the main nucleus of the control system for lifts
CMC-4 and it is base don the CMC-3 firmware with new hardware and increased
performances. It requires a minimum circuitry of a car plate UCC, landing plates UCP, as
well as the different electro-mechanical components that are indispensable for the
functioning of the system.
The most important difference of the control system CMC-4 with regard to CMC-3
is the use of the CAN bus as the communication means of the control plate with the other
electronic plates of the system. The main advantages that are obtained with the use of
the CAN communication bus are the general reduction of the wiring and the elements in
the shaft, car or control cabinet, as well as the reduction of the mounting and
maintenance times in the installation. Besides, it allows a decentralised control of floors
and car.
The reduction of the size of the control plate has been possible thanks to the use
of a micro-processor of 16 bits RENESAS MC16/6N4 and the use of components and
superficial mounting technology (SMD). To manage the CAN communications with a
frequency variator, the UCM incorporates an additional micro-processor RENESAS
R8C/23.
The basic function of the control system is to process the information that is
received by the CAN communication bus of the car and landing plates, as well as the
other control signals coming from the car, shaft and control cabinet and to generate the
necessary control signals to govern the control system.

1.2 PERFORMANCES

 Up to 32 stops in double access with expansion plate PECA32.

 CAN Shaft bus, group and frequency variator;
 Double µC: M16 and R8.
 It integrates supervision of PTC/TH of motor.
 Control of VVVF: Bus CAN and parallel.
 Integrated temperature sensor and RTC.
 Encoder inputs (TTL,LineDriver,EnDat).
 Direct copying of parameters E2Prom between two UCMs.
 Outputs protected against short-circuits.
 Independent programming of microprocessors.

5.4 FIRMWARE UPDATING

To program the micro, it is necessary to have the E8 of Renesas or the programmer
developed in order to program the micros via RS232 (USB-CMC4).
 Install the software FDT of Renesas.
 Connect the programming hardware to the PC and with the plate being
connected to the power supply, connect the E8 or the USB-CMC4.
 Execute the FDT basic software (Flash Development Toolkit 4.00 Basic or
superior).
 At the upper left edge, press Options and select New Settings.
 Select the micro M306N4FG and continue.
 Select the bridge E8 or COM. If the option COM is not available:
 Press “Back” and place the cursor of the mouse over the selected
micro and open the directory that is indicated.
 Edit the file C:\Archivos de programa\Renesas\FDT4.01\kernels
\ProtD\M306N4FG\Renesas\1_0_00\M306N4FG.fcf and look for the
group [Kernel Info]. Here, change the line Com = No by Com = Yes.
o Where it says FDT4.01, you should place the
corresponding folder to the FDT that is installed.
 Save and close and open again the FDT.
 If you have selected E8, leave “Recommended Speed”. If you have selected
COM, take off “Recommended Speed” and select in the window, for
example: 19200.
