Designer clothes
Everybody thinks that teens insist on wearing Armani, Gucci and Donna Karan, but only a few teens are interested in these
brands. They all said they had one designer item which they loved to wear, e.g. a pair of trainers, a jacket, or a sweater.
They thought that people who wore designer clothes weren’t original.
Body shape
The TV and internet are full of models, but only a few teenagers thought the models had the ‘perfect body’. Most of the
teenagers said they were too thin and that they didn’t look healthy. Everybody in the knew about the dangers of anorexia
and bulimia and only one had a cosmetic operation to look better.
Body art
Some teenagers said they would like to have a tattoo (this included as many girls as boys). Many more were interested in
body piercing in the tongue or nose.
