MILITARY PREAREDNESS:
The vital components: -
(a) The quality and quantity of forces
(b) Technological advancements in warfare
(c) Military leadership
Basically,
● For a nation to be strong, it must posses highly trained and skilled and equipped
army.
● A large army which is unequipped is a weakness
● technological advancements in warfare decided the fate of the nation
● state in possession of technologically advanced weapons dominates the inferior
states having lesser technological advancements.
Example:
DIPLOMACY:
● Skill in the management of relations between the states. (government of
independent states).
● Management of international relations.
● The quality of the diplomacy is pursued by the state.
● According to Morgenthau, diplomats were the brain of national power.
● If a diplomat's vision is blurred then all their advantages will go wasted.
● Many scholars say that diplomacy lost its glory because of the advancements in
modern technology.
● Later, due to advanced technology diplomacy became open
● Introduction of open diplomacy
⮚ No secrets in diplomacy
⮚ Conducted in public’s eyes
⮚ Art of democracy
⮚ Act according to public opinion.
⮚ No more playing spectacular roles as played before
● But still it portrays the power of the state to an extent.
● america and china has equal powers and therefore they can’t fight back at each
other
2. INTERNATIONAL MORALITY:-
● power is a crude and unreliable method of limiting the aspiration of power on the
international seas.
● hapsian state of power - power should not be cubed with power.
● enslavement of mankind; extinction of mankind
● moral principle; more peaceful and less anarchic
● international moral principle:-
➢ keeping promises
➢ trust in others
➢ fair dealing
➢ adhere to international law
➢ protecting minority
● all states are expected to accept the universal code of conduct( int. morality)
