    PART – A 5 x 2= 10 Marks

    1. What is centrifugal casting


    2. Differentiate between pressure die casting and permanent mould casting
    3. State the role of flux in the welding
    4. What do you mean by brazing?
    5. What is laser beam welding

    PART – B 2 x 13 = 26 Marks

    1. Explain with neat sketch the shell moulding and centrifugal casting
    (OR)
    With the help of neat sketch, describe in detail, the process of producing
    components by pressure die casting?
    2. With necessary sketches, explain the oxy acetylene gas welding process and also
    discuss the various types of flames.

    Briefly explain the principle of operation, advantages and limitations of Electron beam
    welding and metal inert gas welding

    PART – C 1 x 14 = 14 Marks

    1. Illustrate with neat sketch the different types of core according to state of core and the
    position of core in the mould.
