Distribution channels

Coca Cola: Coca Cola is working with various depots across the world to serve its
customers. These distributors are not controlled by Coca Cola Company but rather have
their own way of serving the clients. These distributors are working directly with the
clients and at the same time selling to other small suppliers and retailers who can serve
the consumers.
Toyota: But for Toyota, it distributes its products mainly through its various branches
across the world. Mostly, the Toyota vehicles are distributed through their regional
centers. Customers are served directly by the firm in their known locations. However,
Toyota uses some authorized dealers to sell different brands in the market.

Explanation:
Transportation
Coca Cola: Coca Cola is transporting its products via roads by the use of trucks. The
company uses trucks branded Coca Cola as part of a marketing strategy. This is an
approach that allows the firm to control the transportation of its products across the
regional depots. Given that the Coca Cola products are unique; they have unique cases
with cans for transporting these goods.
Toyota: When it comes to Toyota, the transportation of its products are mainly through
trucks and ships. The reason is that Toyota cars are heavy and bulky as compared to
the Coca Cola products. Moreover, Toyota clients will purchase their cars and arrange
for their ow transportation. Toyota Company does not use branded transportation trucks
like for the case of Coca Cola.

Inventory Management
Coca Cola: For Coca Cola, it uses mass production of its brand. The regional managers
usually determine the production capacity or capability for their brand. Products are
produced based on forecasting rather than based on customer orders. Each of the
regional manager will work by managing its inventories based on the market demands.
Toyota: But for Toyota, it uses the Toyota production system (TPS) which works based
on the customer orders. This strategy is used by the firm to minimize the amount of
inventories and cut costs of operations. The TPS is inventory management approach
that Toyota is using to eliminate wastes and increase the value of its chains.
