1.Fig. 1.1 shows apparatus that could be used to measure the specific latent heat of ice.
2. Fig. 2.1 shows a student’s attempt to estimate the specific latent heat of fusion of ice by adding ice
at 0 °C to water at 20 °C. The water is stirred continuously as ice is slowly added until the
temperature of the water is 0 °C and all the added ice has melted.
