You are going to embark on a personal and professional journey throughout our Educator Attrition Enhancement – Advancement
Pathways experience. This experience is built to enhance your personal awareness as an educator and professional in the field of
education. You will become aware of your strengths and potential career advancement opportunities that best meet your future career
goals and aspirations. Newly hired educators will be joining together to experience, support, and collaborate during this journey of
growth and advancement. Your learning and awareness will progress within each of the five levels of advancement. By the end of the
quest, you will be able to finalize your plans for future career advancement within the field of education.
Your goal is to acquire 500 points during your experience!
Remember to focus on building meaning connections with colleagues throughout each level. You will be able to offer each other
continued support as you navigate the advancement path that best suits your needs. Opportunities are also available – post training – to
become coaches and mentors to future new hires. Your purpose and experience will serve future new educators. Make your experience
intentional – Make your experience meaningful – Keep a growth mindset and keep your eyes on your goals. Best of luck!
Advancement Level Titles & Points Level One – Green Lanyard
Level 1 – Personal Awareness 100 points needed to advance
Level 2 – Opportunity Awareness 200 points needed to advance Level Two – Orange Lanyard
Level 3 – Choose Your Path 300 points needed to advance Level Three – Yellow Lanyard
Level 4 – Mentoring & Coaching 400 points needed to advance
Level 5 – Build Your Skillset 500 points needed to complete Level Four – Purple Lanyard
Level Five – Pink Lanyard

 Points are awarded with each successful task completion within


each level. Program leaders and school administration must verify completion before awarding the five
lanyards associated with level one – five completion and point progression.
 Each level must be completed in entirety and meet the point requirements in sequence.
 As you progress through each level, your administrator will award you a new lanyard that signifies your efforts. You will
collect five lanyards during the entirety of this journey. Classrooms will have shadow box displays for lanyards outside each
educator’s classroom. Educators can also choose to wear their awarded lanyard.

Level One – Personal Awareness


Purpose: The educator will participate in book club discourse that will aid in self-growth and creation of a personal awareness plan
that will jumpstart their career path progress and plan. (John C. Maxwell’s - The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth.)

*Personal Awareness Plan (50 points)
Tasks:

Level Two – Opportunity Awareness
Purpose: The educator will become knowledgeable of possible career advancement paths during district led training. Partnering
universities will also be explaining degree advancement / certification pathways during the second part of this level.
Point Outline:
*District led - Two Days of Training (25 points per day x 2 days = 50 points)
*Partnering University Training (50 points)
Tasks:
*Part I: Two days of district led training – career opportunities and paths within the district explained
*Part II: One day of partnering university training – degree advancement options explained and advisors available to meet as needed

Level Three – Choose Your Path


Purpose: The educator will select a desired path for future career advancement and submit a plan to the program leader and school
administration.
Point Outline:
*Choose Your Path Plan – 100 points
Tasks:
* Choose Your Path Plan – Educators will reflect on learning from level 1 and 2. They will set career development goals and align
these goals with degree / certification requirements. They will submit a plan for their desired path and give rationale connected to their
self-awareness and career aspirations to the program leader and school administration.
Level Four – Mentoring & Coaching
Purpose: Educators will be paired with a mentor that is in their desired career advancement path. They will build confidence and
background knowledge to continue their journey. The educator will participate in four months of mentorship during this level.
Point Outline:
*Month 1 – 25 points (2 in person / 1 virtual)
*Month 2 – 25 points (2 in person / 1 virtual)
*Month 3 – 25 points (1 in person / 2 virtual)
*Month 4 – 25 points (2 in person / 1 virtual)
Tasks:
Mentees must submit a monthly reflection of growth and understanding of career path progression and requirements after monthly
sessions. (4 total reflections needed for advancements – connect to learning from levels 1-3)

Level Five – Build Your Skillset


Purpose: The educator will refine their chosen career advancement path by participating in a book club of Jim Kwik’s work,
Limitless: Upgrade your brain, learn anything faster, and unlock your exceptional life.
Point Outline:
*Weekly Flipgrid Posts – 50 points
*Career Advancement Timeline – 50 points
Tasks:
Educators will participate in weekly Flipgrid posts – Three (3) month duration – during the collaborative book club in level five.
To complete this level, educators must submit a career advancement timeline after meeting the book club Flipgrid requirements.
Program leaders and school administration will review the timeline and award the final points for completion of the final level – Level
Five: Build Your Skillset. (500 point goal for completion)
Upon completing the five (5) levels of this experience, educators will have the competencies to continue their career path and meet
their desired career goals. Educators will have increased clarity and the self-awareness that is needed to continue advancing in their
career. Opportunities for educator participation in coaching and mentoring opportunities will also allow educators the opportunity to
give back to future new hires – as they will need mentoring and coaching when they start their career.
