INTRODUCTION OF FUJITSU VIETNAM LIMITED

1.1. The establishment and development


1.1.1. Fujitsu Vietnam Group
On June 20th, 1935, Fuji Tsushinki Manufacturing Corporation- later becoming Fujitsu
Limited was established in Japan with an initial capital of 3 million yen. After more
than 80 years of operation, Fujitsu Limited has become one of the world's leading
companies in the information and communication technology sector with total global
revenue in 2019 of over US $ 40 billion.

In 1993, Fujitsu officially started operations in Vietnam. And since then, Vietnam has
always been one of the important locations in the investment and development
strategy of the global Fujitsu Group.

Currently, Fujitsu Vietnam Group includes 3 members: Fujitsu Vietnam Limited


(FVL); Fujitsu Computer Products of Vietnam Inc. (FCV) and VNPT-Fujitsu
Telecomunication Systems Limited (VFT).

Fujitsu Computer Products Vietnam (FCV) has been operating since 1995,
specializing in manufacturing raw electronic printed circuit boards and assembling for
the computer industry with a total investment capital of 198.8 million USD.

Established on April 5, 1997, the VNPT-Fujitsu Telecommunication Systems


Company (VFT) was the result of a joint venture between Vietnam Posts and
Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT) and Fujitsu. The company provides design,
manufacture, installation and maintenance services for SDH radio and optical
transmission systems with two main product lines: FLX and FRX.
1.1.1. Fujitsu Vietnam Limited
Fujitsu Vietnam Limited - established on February 6, 1999 is the newest member of
Fujitsu Group in Vietnam. Until now, after twenty-one years of operation, FVL is one
of the pioneers in information and communication technology in Vietnam.

In 1994, Fujitsu Japan opened a representative office in Hanoi and a second


representative office in Ho Chi Minh City in 1997. Two representative offices
operated in parallel for two years, then Fujitsu Vietnam Limited Liability Company
was officially established with an initial investment capital of 1,000,000 USD. FVL's
head office is located in Hanoi and branch office is located in Ho Chi Minh City with
two technical support offices in Thang Long Industrial Park, Dong Anh, Hanoi and
Bien Hoa Industrial Park, Dong Nai.

After 21 years of operation, Fujitsu Vietnam Ltd. has developed with 202 employees
(as of June 2019), including 9 employees directly sent from Fujitsu Japan.

Currently, the company has gained huge trust and loyalty from wide range of large
customers, including public sector (Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public
Security, Ministry of Education and Training, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of
Transport), financial institutions (Sacombank, Vietcombank, BIDV, BaoViet Group,
State Bank of Vietnam), telecommunication companies (Viettel, Mobifone,
Vinaphone, VNPT, Vietnamobile), and a plenty of big corporations (Nissan Techno
Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, Masan Group, TOTO, etc. with the revenue in 2004 of
4.73. USD million is equivalent to 68 billion Vietnam Dong and the revenue for 2006
is 125,638 billion Vietnam Dong - almost double that of 2004.
1.2. Organizational Structure
1.2.1. Organogram of Fujitsu Vietnam Limited
The company's management apparatus is organized according to the decentralized
management structure, functions and assignment of work. Company leaders
participate directly in charge of each facility. This structure is intended to enable
departments to support the Board of Directors of the Company to both run well and
ensure compliance at the company. The director is the person who decides the work,
the functional departments assisting the Director in professional skills and direction of
production and business activities in the company.

The relationship between departments is a coordinated relationship, specialized


departments only advise and perform professional tasks, functional departments have
no power to make decisions or orders. A subordinate relationship is a relationship of
guidance, support and assistance in order to concretize the execution of the Director's
orders.

It can be said that the organizational structure of the business plays a role as the most
important factor determining the success or failure of the company's production
activities to facilitate the foundation for long-term sustainable development. The
management model is applied by the company in accordance with the size and scope
of the company, can effectively implement the leadership regime, avoid duplication
and overlap, but still promote capacity and the intellect of the professional team, the
professional staff.

1.2.2. Functions of Departments
1.1.1.1. General Director: Currently the person holding this
position at Fujitsu Vietnam Co., Ltd. is Mr. Dan Tuan
Anh.
Besides taking general responsibility for the operation of the whole company,
he also takes charge of allocating and supervising the implementation of the
plan, direct the company’s performance, join in discussing and signing
contracts, and participate in external affairs.

1.1.1.2. IT Infra service: Information technology infrastructure


management services department.
The head of this department is Mr. Tran Duc Dung.
- Ensure the client's investment in IT infrastructure by the quality of service with
highly trained and experienced engineers
- Providing support services 24/7, help to control computer system operations
- Take charge of post-sales service regarding infrastructure (hardware, core,
platform)

1.1.1.3. SI Business (System Integration Business - System


Integration Division)
The head of this department is Mr. Hoang Huy Dan.
The system integrator has the following main functions:
o Surveying, analyzing business, analyzing design, building programming
standards, system testing modules
o Research technology, survey customer market information
o Synthesize results of reports, register software copyright
o Build, sign and implement contracts with customers
o Train and guide customers

This division consists of two sub-departments, which are the SDC Division and the
BAS Department
- Software Development Center (SDC - Software Development Center)
- Business Application Service (BAS - Software solution for businesses):
includes 2 parts:
o ERP (Glovia): is the division in charge of Glovia products (enterprise
resource management solutions such as production management,
finance, accounting, distribution ...) for manufacturing factories -
manufacturers (mainly of Japan). For example, customers are Canon,
Inax, Meiko, etc.

o HRS (Human Resource Solution): EZ-Manage product development and


management. This is the solution to manage human resources, working
hours, payroll.
1.1.1.4. Sales Business (Sales department)
This department has 37 main executives and plays a vital role in the existence and
development of the company.

The Sales Business department has the following main functions and duties:
o Collect, research and analyze customer and market information
o Planning, marketing strategy, market development
o Establish relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, setting up
agents, representative offices, showrooms
o Distributing products to customers
o Manage customer support systems, training, and customer support

Sales department is also divided into 2 main segments:


- JOC Sale Business (Japanese Originated Customer - Business segment
with Japanese companies)
- Non JOC Business (Non Japanese Originated Customer - Business segment
with non-Japanese companies). This segment mainly works with
Vietnamese agencies, the government and is in charge of product
distribution.

1.1.1.5. Business Support Group (BSG)


BSG forms a foundation of company’s business activities, supporting other
departments to run smoothly and efficiently. It includes five main departments as
follows:

- Human Resource and Administrative management


o Calculate monthly payroll and get all required approval for payment
o Help the board of directors make and implement schedules, meetings,
and seminars
o Send monthly payslip to employees
o Prepare and manage offer letter, labor contract and C&B related
documents
o Recruit talents and provide training for employees
o Implement performance review procedures, measure employee retention
and turnover rates
o Develop fair HR policies and ensure employees understand and comply
with them

- Finance and Accounting


o Preparing the periodical profit and loss, cash flow statement and balance
sheet reports
o Tax reporting, inventory processing and accounting records monitoring
o Collecting and analyzing data, which is then used in the preparation of
weekly and monthly estimates
o Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
o Conducting internal audits such as wage reviews
o Examining financial records to check for accuracy
- Marketing
o Plan, prepare and manage the publication and distribution of
publicity materials
o Devise marketing campaigns and undertake market research
o Write, edit and proofread marketing material for use in different
channels
o Oversee and update company’s website and page
o Analyze the impact of marketing campaigns and prepare
measurement reports
o Write press releases and communicate with the media

- Procurement
o Identifying requirements for goods, materials and services.
o Identifying reliable suppliers.
o Price and delivery terms negotiations.
o Establishing order quantities.
o Writing requests for bids and awarding supply contracts.
o Coordinating delivery with the warehouse against storage capacities.
o Product testing and quality control.
o Managing budgets and payments

- Sales Support and Operation


o Prepare and proceed necessary paperwork for new sales and
maintenance or renewal contracts
o Facilitate deal closing and assess process time
o Support Sales manager for periodical sales forecast and pipeline
o Issue authorized support letter, certificate of origin/quality, warranty
document
o Process to register to Backlog, request for Purchase order and
Invoice
o Monitor, administer, and guide business transactions, import and
export activities of the company
o Give strategic information about Marketing, receive and send goods
on request, organize fairs and exhibitions
