DAY 10 FORMATIVE

ASSESSMENT

Instruction: Each of the statements below describes either quantitative or qualitative research.
On the first column, write a check mark if it is described quantitative and a cross mark if it does
not. Then explain your answer on the third column.

the phenomena that one studies. research ids being unbiased of the researcher,
which means only relevant information are
stated and not merely on the opinions of the
researcher.
/ 2. Applies a deductive method. Quantitative research proceeds with deductive
approach, where it usually begins with a
hypothesis, then the second premise will relate
on its first assumption which leads on the
testing of a hypothesis. It helps to
generalize research findings to a certain extent.

of numerical value and can be statistically

What is the importance of quantitative research in people's
daily lives?

In what ways does quantitative research contribute in the

different areas of people's live? Explain

Our society is continuously evolving on its state, thus providing us an

avenue to conceptualize and further study the various concepts and entities that is happening
around us.

Quantitative research is essential towards our life since it generate

knowledge and create understanding about the social world. It enables us to generalized huge
amount of data to easily identify the variables in an experiment.

It is also more reliable and objective which enable us to derive conclusion

without initiating bias concepts. Unlike on other forms of research, quantitative may use
statistical methods which helps us to profoundly known the mass numbers of variables. Thus,
providing us an avenue to easily grasp relevant information regarding a phenomenon.

Moreover, it also reduces and restructures a complex problem to a limited

number of variables, therefore we can easily determine what are the factors that causes a
problem. In that way, we can formulate actions that may substantial to eradicate the problems in
social issues.

We cannot also neglect the fact, that this type of research has long- life
span and can be easily used again. Since, it based on a proper deduction on a study, it only stated
truths and facts that are formulated throughout the analysis, thus enabling it to be reliable and
substantial for a long period of time.

In our daily lives, quantitative research is present all the time, may it be on
the forms, documents or just merely on simple deducting in a phenomenon. It manifests our
capability to explore and induce relevant information that is formulated by facts and precise
conclusion.
Quantitative research contributed a lot in the different areas of people's
lives. Just for an instance in education sector, methods in quantitative analysis engages in the
educational measurement and evaluation, primarily through the development and application of
statistical methods. It also relatively coherent the interrelationship between teaching and learning
attributes of the students. Through this way, education sectors are able to adapt new ways of
learning and identify the factor that deteriorate the capability of students to learn via full
potential.

While on the medical field, the findings in quantitative research will

reflect the reliability and validity of the measured outcomes or dependent variables that is used to
assess the effectiveness of the medical education intervention. It is used to identify the
effectiveness of allied medical forces to the development of new health practices. By the means
of this, medical practitioners can easily formulate new ways of healing practices that eradicate
further problem on health sector. It also assesses the efficacy of health practices toward the
welfare of man-kind.

On the other hand, for business enterprises. Through quantitative research

it enables to use mathematical analysis and data in order to shed light on important statistics
about business and market. This type of data, found via tactics such as multiple-choice
questionnaires that can help seize the interest in a company. It helps the company to identify
what they can possibly offer and contribute to their beloved consumers.

Lastly on the economy, through the application of quantitative methods,

adequate data, complex phenomena and processes, economics can be studied more efficiently
and more precisely. As well as on identifying their interrelationship, in order to reach decisions
and appropriate movements for economic growth. It also helps to addressed certain issues that
are barriers on leading a prosperous economy.

In general, quantitative research is a vital part of our life. Since it not just
improves the way of living of society, but also it is a great help to promote new analysis that is
substantial on shaping a society's future.
Variables:

A "variable" is anything you can changes in an experiment to see how it affects the
"outcome/experiment".

An experiment usually has three different variables - dependent, independent and

controlled.

The "independent" variable is purposefully "change" by the scientist and

observations are made during the experiment to "see" what happens.

The "dependent" variable is watched by the scientist during the experiment,

--------- what is affected by the "independent" variable.

The "controlled" variable is the value or quantity that remains "constant/ the same"
throughout the experiment.
