Colegio de san Juan de letran is one of the greatest educational institution that transform young people into

religiously literate. Studying in the Colegio made me the person I never thought I could be and not only that I became a

good example to my fellow generation but also it taught me of embodying the importance of Justice and peace which is

part of colegio’s vision of raising the awareness that is centered on a Dominican community that preaches Christ. The

outcome of Religious Education within a classroom setting is to engage young people to become aware of the demands

of religious commitment in their lives, each day. This includes being able to have the knowledge, understanding and skills

to enable them to reflect on their social, moral, spiritual and cultural values which have direct links to the catholic faith. It is

considered to be “core of the core curriculum” in a Catholic school. All of this was made possible through the program that

the Colegio offer.

Within the RE courses of the colegio, faith is enhanced and encouraged to flourish as it is intended to promote the

wellbeing and freedom of each letranistas, as everyone is made in the image and likeness of God as well as playing a

‘central and vital part of life. The beliefs and values of REthat I took, draw together all aspects of school life which enable

me to engage with and resolve the demands of religious commitment in everyday life and encourages me to question and

find reason, it develops the ‘critical faculties of letranistas. With all the RE courses that the colegio is striving within the

classroom pursues a life of meaningfulness and encouraging for a reflection as well as engaging with the ‘deepest

questions of life.

As I engage with religious faith on a deeper level there is a greater sense of the attitudes nourished and

developed which bring me clarity to the relationship between faith and life. In my Letran journey, it provides me

a chance to develop and shine in a way which allows me to become the greatest version of myself. Religious

Education is one of the gift I received from letran which ‘grows from a seed to full maturity to ensure that as

being letranista, I am literate and engaged religiously and spiritually.
