Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams: Organization Change and Development

1. The forces for organization change that reflected at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams can be
seen through technology, it was stated that whenever there are changes in the external
environment they also need to improve their technology in the company. This is because
technology is rapidly changing and as a company, you must flow with it or else you
would be left behind. It was also seen with Kim Clay as the company developed her
from customer inquiry to being an IT Manager. She also stated the challenges in keeping
the business competitive. Although competition is not entirely forcing change it still
gives an impact on what they are changing.

2. If there is a need to move Kim Clay out of her current job into a new one this process will
be effective. This was proven because she started working in the customer inquiry which
includes the job of answering the phone, informs customers about the furniture and where
it is located, and it may be specific questions about their ads. But she was promoted and
became an IT Manager of the company. Her past and future job in the company is not
related yet she managed to cope with it and enhanced her self-confidence. That is why it
is no doubt that if ever she needs to be placed in a new job she would be an effective
employee since they can easily rely on her. Of course with the help of their human
resource management and her co-workers.

3. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams used the group and individual change as their
organizational development. They trained their employees to improve especially when it
comes to personal growth. This is because they were able to use management and
fostered their employees with their skills see for example Kim Clay was promoted from
customer inquiry to an IT Manager. They aim to help their employees to be successful.
They have a mentality of your success is my success which results in a positive impact
within the environment. The company gives a lot of opportunities and sees the inner
aspects of their employees.
