I. BACKROUND

STMicroelectronics is one among the biggest semiconductors round the world. The company's product
strategy is on sense and power technologies. The products of the STMicroelectronics are everywhere,
that's why the corporate makes a positive and innovative contribution to people's lives. The
STMicroelectronics aims to serve and to deliver fascinating multimedia experiences to the shoppers,
anytime and anywhere they're going. Also, they establish an information security and protection which
will cater the appliance to their local and international market. Through the years, the corporate created
a powerful partnership worldwide and a strategic alliance with its customers, suppliers, competitors and
etc. But, rather like the opposite organizations, the STMicroelectronics experience various problems
inside their company. Most of the workers complaint about the leadership style in their management,
how it became a directive and a dictatorial administration. The difficulty causes the staff to protest
against them. Additionally, to the present, the management seems to only specialize in bringing their
company to growth, that's why they forgotten to incorporate all the involve people and therefore the
employees who are affected to their change initiative.

II. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

A. The sort of leadership the STMicroelectronics should established to stop the resistance of the staff to
the change initiatives of the corporate is to be a Participative Leadership. Wherein, this kind of
leadership is additionally called as a democratic leadership. Which all the members of the organization
work together to form decision and everybody is inspired to participate. This leadership style, will help
the staff to be heard about their opinions and insights about the corporate growth. Also, this may make
the workers be involved and be ready for the change initiative that the corporate want.

B. A complete quality tool to realize judgment from the interior and external stakeholders regarding the
expansion of the corporate is that the stratification tool. Wherein, this tool aims to collect the info from
where the matter started or what causes the matter. It'll gather the start all the perspectives of the
people involve, the environment, and etc. After gathering all the facts, it'll be easier to grasp what
everyone needs and to tug insights from them.

C. The ISO 9000 helps the corporate to boost their business processes and reduce scrap, rework and
value. Also, manufacturers with similar products, service and price use the certification to differentiate
themselves from their competitors. Additionally, to the current, ISO standards can improve an
organization’s business processes and add value. Because, implementing the relevant standards in your
company, they guide you to boost procedures with a positive impact on customers and products.

III. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION

The facts that are shown the study, that causes the issues inside the organization is that the complaints
of the workers about how the management handles them. The administration doesn't consider their
suggestions that they know can help the operations of the corporate to boost. The management just
make commands and expected the workers to simply do what they are saying. Also, the managements
seem to be blind sighted by the expansion of their company, that they need forgotten to acknowledge
the opinions of the stakeholders. These problems, result to a protest of the workers and resistance to
the change initiatives.

IV. ALTERNATIVE COURSES OF ACTION

Directive and Dictatorial Management

• Be a training manager

• Have a democratic management

Advantages

• Coaching managers motivate their employees with professional development opportunities, sort of a
promotion or more responsibility. These rewards make employees hungry for knowledge, and their
steady development improves the team’s performance.

• Managers let their employees participate within the decision-making process because they value their
team’s diversity of ideas, and understand that individuals are the key to a team’s success.

Disadvantages

• Being a training manager can even be toxic for his or her team's relations. Because it could cause a cut
throat environment, or have a competitive situation that involves ruthless measures.

• A democratic management style is often inefficient. Managers who keep weighing over a choice even
after consulting their whole team about it can block progress.

Failed to consider feedbacks

• to stop forgetting, always ask "why". Like, "why I should gather their feedbacks".

V. Recommendations

All the presented course of action for the issues inside the company, the due to prevent those problems
is to contemplate all the selection courses of action. Because, all those factors are very important in
helping the corporate, especially the workers to forestall from protesting against them. Considering the
staff and stakeholder in every decision and changes that the company is making, will make them aware
and should also gives style of suggestions which will help the company's operation more successful.
Asking for their opinion will make them feel that you simply trusted them, that's why they are going to
trust the company too, and it will make a stronger relationship between the company and also the
workers, and stakeholders. This could also result to a healthy environment inside the workplace.

VI. Management Lesson Learned

The important factors that's showed during this case study is that, no matter how successful is that the
corporate and no matter how good you would like for the company, there's still an argument which is
able to arise. So, the STMicroelectronics shouldn't let the management be directive and dictatorial.
Because this could only make their employees feel that they are being caged, and treated variety of a
robot. All employee’s opinions and suggestions are vital for the success of the company because, they're
the one who are working for the corporate that's why, they know what are the factors that should be
considered and to spice up more. Additionally, to the current, forgetting about the opinions of the
partner of the company will make them not trustworthy. Being a worthless of trust can make their
company to fail and no other stakeholders.
