Types of gears:-

Following are different types of gears:

Spur: These are simplest gears therefore all the kinematics relations for gears are developed
by considering spur gears. Their teeth are parallel to axis of rotation and engagement of
gears are always noisy.

Helical gear: These are used for power transfer between parallel and inclined shafts.if shaft
are parallel spur gear and helical used for the same applications.but there are some factors
should be considered when helical gears will be used.

The axail thrust and bending couples induced because of inclined teeth.

Conjugate Action:-
- gears are designed to produce constant angular velocity ratio during mesh. This is
called conjugate action. (during assignment I will calculate the angular velocity
ratio.in theory, at least, it is possible to select arbitrarily any profile for one tooth
and then find the profile of mesh tooth that will give conjugate action.

- Pitch point should remain fixed to transmit constant angular motion

Fundamental relationships:

- When two gears mesh, their pitch circle roll on one another without the slipping.
Designate the pitch radii with r1 and r2, their angular velocities w1 and w2
