Q 1: (a) For the following statements, decide whether the variable is continuous or discrete.

Q 2: Solve the following questions:
(a) In which sampling criteria is used to differentiate between with and without sampling case?
Write down the relationship between population and sample mean, variance in with and without

(b): Assume that the masses of 200 male students at a college are normally distributed with men
65.0 kg and standard deviation 3 kg. If 100 samples consisting of 36 students each are obtained,
what would be the expected mean and standard devotion of resulting sampling distribution of
means if sampling were done

Q 3: Solve the following objectives and give the answers:
(a) To find the confidence interval for population mean how many cases we have, elaborate
them briefly with suitable examples?
(b): In a certain large city, a random sample of 400 families contracted by a local TV station that
275 owned colour TV sets. Find an approximate 90 per cent confidence interval on the true
proportion of all families living in the city who own colour TV sets.
(c): Five measurements of reaction time were recorded as 0.28, 0.30, 0.27, 0.33, 0.31 seconds.
Find 95% confidence interval for actual mean reaction time?
