Bangladesh so thy take a challenge to beat them and take them as a competitor. Their mission

will enter as a catering contractor in biggest convention hall in Dhaka. Take contract for
supply the food at any program. Their specialty is Chittagong traditional food mejbani and
beef kalo bhuna. They sell iftar items like: mejbani beef, beef kalo bhuna, chili chicken,
butter chicken, roasted chicken, mutton leg roast, mutton special halim, beef kofta, grilled
chicken and bbq chicken, vegetable beef chili, kofta curry, nun, paratha, fried rice, chicken
briyani, mutton briyani, beef biriyani, khichuri, jarda, firni, borhani drink, kasmeri drink.
They invested around BDT 5, 00,000 for 27 days for iftar bazar. Where BDT 75,000 for rent
the space, employee salary BDT 90,000, chef and wages around BDT 50,000,service charge
around BDT 10,000, food transportation cost BDT 15,000, raw materials costing : around
BDT 2,50,000 per day sell around BDT (20000-25000) when Friday came this sell goes
double like around BDT (40000-45000). So, at the end of the month Ramadan they earned
without their investment and all expenses around BDT 1, 70,000. This way he made the
profit.
Personal story of the founder:
Mr. Nizamul Karim Chowdhury Bulbul is the founder of Mejbani. He runs his business with
5 employees, 3 chefs, 5 helpers, 3 washers, 2 servants. Manager: Sayem Ahmed, Marketing
manager: Shiam Ahmed Oyon. After he graduated from National University of Bangladesh,
he knew that he wants to do something on his own. And being a Chatgaiyya (Chittagong
local) he has a deep passion for chatgaiyya culture. Especially he was very much interested in
the food specialties like Mejbani gosht, Kala bhuna etc. He was looking for an opportunity
and as soon as he got the opportunity to showcase his idea, he took some financial support
from family along with his savings and started his business during 2016 ramadan. After that
Ramadan success he never looked behind and tried to expand that food stall to current
catering service. His hard work and passion presented him the place he has today. It is not
like that as being an entrepreneur now he must work less or something like that but now he
has double work pressure because he has to maintain his job and also his business. As his
perspective of working under someone is being the slave of that person. He doesn’t want that
slavery in his life, so he became stubborn to start his business. His entrepreneurial
characteristics have boosted him up to start his business. For the hiring process, he always
uses the practical check of the employee. At first, he starts with the formal way of hiring like
with CV, interview and all that. Then he goes for practical check of the applicant. He looks
into some characteristics of the applicant. If the applicant can read customer’s choice, if he
has a good knowledge about fabrics and the price and most importantly if he can convince the
customer to buy the goods then only the applicant is suitable for the job. He mainly
emphasizes on good communication skill of the employee for hiring. He strongly
recommends that everyone should at least try to run his own business. He is saying that he
has confronted with many things in this journey which is actually very helpful in life.
