General introduction

Beloved in the Lord, praise be Jesus Christ.

We are celebrating today, the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, year “A”. The
readings chosen for our meditation encourages us to be obedient and humble in our
dealings. Jesus presents to us the reactions of two sons following their fathers
request for them to carry out a task. The first accepted but didn’t, while the second
refused but later Did what the father wanted. Their reactions are not different from
ours. God on a daily basis through the scriptures, invites us to be obedient, humble
and loving: we often accept this invitation with mere words but yet our character
and actions prove otherwise.
Dear brethren , God is calling on us today to be Christians both in words and
deeds. Let’s refrain from all that’s distancing us from God’s presence and strive for
righteousness.
With songs of praise, let us welcome the main celebrant.

Bidding Prayers
1. For the Holy Roman Catholic Church and all her leaders especially Francis
our Pope, Jean Barga our Bishop, Fr Cletus and Jean Paul our priests, that
the almighty God may give them the enabling strength to keep on preaching
the good news to the ends of the Earth without relenting on their efforts for
the salvation of all mankind.
2. For World leaders and especially those of our beloved nation Cameroon, that
God almighty may grant them the grace to carefully consider the welfare of
their citizens as they govern those under their power for the peace and
salvation of all the world.
3. For all those who have wandered off the part of eternal life, Lord we pray,
that you may send down your Holy spirit to strengthen them in their distress
and redirect their steps towards the pursuit of your kingdom and all its
righteousness.
4. For us all gathered here today and for our entire Christian community,
Heavenly father, just like you created the moon and the stars to light up the
skies when darkness falls, you made us in your own image to bring light to
human kind, help us in this assignment to ever remain faithful to your
calling till the end of time.
5. In the silence of our hearts, let's present to God our pleas...
6. Mary is our mother and model of the church, let us Chanel all our
prayers through her as we say/sing...
