take a break to care for yourself so you can give
your best work to those around you and most

Burnout is the process of feeling emotional, physical
and mental exhaustion brought along by excessive and
prolonged work-related stress. People who experience
burnout are often less motivated to perform at work and may
feel like their work is never enough. Burnout can negatively
affect other areas in your life including social supports and
home life. Recognizing the signs of burnout can help stop this
process from taking over and put a balance back in your life.
Practicing healthy self-care is an excellent way to maintain
emotional wellness and regain appreciation for your work
and other areas in your life.

Self-care is the practice of caring for your emotional,
physical and mental well-being. Good self-care can
reduce work-related stress and anxiety and improve
relationships with others and yourself while allowing
you to restore your mental health and engage in things
that bring you joy. During these difficult times of
change it is important evaluate how well you are caring
for yourself. Many people have recently experienced
changes in their work life. Some have shifted to working
from home which has also led to taking on roles as
teachers or caregivers for others. Many have had the
unfortunate experience of losing their jobs and others
have had to continue showing up for work despite fears
and uncertainties. Though many of these changes have
been out of our control, making time to practice self-
care can be helpful in coping with new stress and
maintain healthy boundaries and relationships. Although
life can get very busy at times, carving out specific
times to practice self-care can help regain focus and
allow you to manage difficult times effectively.
