E-Commerce: E-commerce is just the process of buying and selling produce by
electronic means such as by mobile applications and the Internet. Ecommerce refers
to both online retail and online shopping as well as electronic transactions.

Types of E-Commerce Business Model: There are 4 types of e-commerce business

model we’ve know.
• Business to Business (B2B)
• Business to Consumer (B2C)
• Consumer to Consumer (C2C)
• Consumer to Business (C2B)

B2B: Business to Business Ecommerce

A B2B model focuses on providing products from one business to another. While
many businesses in this niche are service providers, you’ll find software companies,
office furniture and supply companies, document hosting companies, and
numerous other ecommerce business models under this heading. It is larger,
growing faster. This includes procurements of raw materials and supplies, liaison
with contractors, sales channels, servicing customers, collaborating with partners,
integrated management with data and knowledge.
Example: In Bangladesh, bgmea.com.bd, bizbangladesh.com are examples of B2B
platforms. Pricekoto.com is a B2B Marketplace In Bangladesh, where buyers will
find suppliers/ sellers to serve them with quality products for the right price.B2C
commerce involves e-commerce between businesses and the consumers.

B2C: Business to Consumer Ecommerce

The B2C sector is what most people think of when they imagine an ecommerce
business. This is the deepest market, and many of the names you’ll see here are
known quantities offline, too. B2C sales are the traditional retail model, where a
business sells to individuals, but business is conducted online as opposed to in a
physical store. Where enterprises sell directly to the customer, often cutting out
wholesalers or retail outlets.
Example: In Bangladesh, B2C is the most commonly understood form of internet
business www.muktobazaar.com most successful trading has been with standard
products such as CDs, Books, Software, downloadable music etc. B2C initiatives
include Facebook-based commerce platforms such as Shopr.bd and ShoptoBd
which allow Bangladeshi customers to purchase products from leading online
shopping sites in the US, UK, India and even China.

C2C: Consumer to Consumer Ecommerce

B2B and B2C are genuinely instinctive ideas for the vast majority of us, yet the
possibility of C2C is unique. The ecommerce business segment and developing
shopper trust in online business, these destinations enable clients to exchange,
purchase, and sell things in return for a little commission paid to the website.
Opening a C2C site takes cautious arranging. Online transaction between private
individuals. There are many sites offering free classifieds, auctions, and forums
where individuals can buy and sell thanks to online payment systems like PayPal
where people can send and receive money online with ease.

Example: In Bangladesh bikroy.com, clickbd.com are examples of C2C platforms.

B2G is usually used for licensing process, public purchasing and other government
operations.

C2B: Consumer to Business Ecommerce

Consumer-to-business (C2B) is a business model where an end user or consumer

makes a product or service that an organization uses to complete a business process
or gain competitive advantage. The C2B methodology completely transposes the
traditional business-to-consumer (B2C) model, where a business produces services
and products for consumer consumption.
