Library director honored by Senior Book Club

WOODVILLE – Recently the Allan Shivers

“Miss Rosemary,” as she is known to

library and she was instrumental in the
founding of the Senior Book Club. This
organization of like-minded bibliophiles
promotes a fun weekly fellowship.
According to Betty Zimmerman, “we edu-
cate, encourage, stimulate and at times even
tease each other. Often members are inspired
to read a new author after hearing another’s
book review.”
The Senior Book Club tackles a variety
of genres and themes: philosophy, mystery,
romance, adventure, history, science fiction,
biography and comedy.
Readers report on their books each week
via self-pace schedules and it is common for
more than one person to read the same book.
(Of note, reviewers are prohibited from re-
vealing the end of a mystery unless requested

reading and just come and enjoy the conver-
sations. All readers are welcomed, and books
are available from the library in either hard
copy (for those who like to feel a book in
their hands), or from the vast digital on-line
resources now available. If a reader purchased
their own book, they place it on the tables for
others to enjoy and when everyone has had
a chance to read it, the book is donated to
the library. The Senior Book Club meets at
