In Tyler County
Halloween, that most colorful of
holidays, came and went in Tyler
County. We asked folks to send
us photos of their creative, colorful
and frightful costumes. Here's
some of (what we thought were)
the coolest costumes on parade
in our county this Halloween.
Hospital Auxiliary gets to cookin’

If you are like most of us, you avoid going
to the hospital. However, there is a wonderful
group of men and women who go for the fun
of it: the Auxiliary Volunteers.
Have you had the opportunity lately to
visit the Tyler County Hospital? We have
had a facelift inside and out. Employees, con-
tractors, and volunteers have been scrubbing,
painting, planting, and decorating.
This includes the Licensed Vocational
Nurse (LVN) facilities. The Lab building
has had a complete make over. In fact, you
can see inside if you come to the Mistletoe
Market on Saturday, Dec. 7. The hospital
gift shop volunteers will have a booth there
selling things like the “Naked Bee” products,
which are great stocking stuffers.

What I really wanted to tell you about is
the cookbook the volunteers are assembling
in time for Christmas sales. All summer
we have been gathering recipes from staff,
volunteers, and their friends. It was suggested
we put pictures of the food in the cookbook
with the recipe.
So, we just had a party and invited all
cookbook donors to cook one of their recipes
and bring it to the party for a picture taking
session, and then we ate!
We had some wonderful dishes to sample
that day, even the bread pudding, which is
not my favorite thing. It has a rum sauce to
