Non-Conformance Works

Non-Conformance:

1. Root gap 11mm after fit up is not acceptable as per design drawing and welding procedure.
Investigation:

1. As per NK3-WHE-CIV-DRS-PN-81159 REV. 01 the design drawing have a backing strip which required root
gap 8 to 15mm as per welding procedure.
2. After fit up and fixed the support the design drawing has been revise to NK3-WHE-CIV-DRS-PN-81159 REV.
02 which is to remove the backing strip as per designer.
3. The production followed the revised drawing and remove the backing strip.
4. In accordance to WPS EN-03 (without backing strip) 2mm to 4mm required root gap.
5. The actual root gap 11mm is not acceptable at WPS EN-03.

Corrective Action:

1. Buttering and grinding to attain the correct root gap required.

2. Subject for Penetration test ( PT)
