No. ‘$-3000-3160-007 FOR FIELD PSV TESTING Sheet 3 OF 21 ‘SCOPE This document describes the CONTRACTOR’s Field Test Procedure for Field PSV Test (Popping Test! Function Stability Test and Seat Tightness) of Pressure Relief Valve for HASSI R'MEL BOOSTING PHASE Ill PROJECT. Valves shall be subject to Algerian government (DGM) inspection in accordance with the project ‘specification $-3000-1670-301. DGM inspector will attend the field test of these valves. The testing shall not be conducted without DGM inspector's attendance. Valves of skid-mounted type (already installed / mounted on fabricated package equipment) is not subject to DGM inspection, ‘This procedure covers both PSV series RE & RPS. 2 STANDARD REGULATION AND CODES Work shall be in accordance withthe latest revision of all applicable Codes, Standards Specification ‘and Regulation isted below. The term “atest revision” shal be interpreted as the revisions including ‘addenda of the publications effective on the date of purchase order or contract award. Except as modified by the requirements specified herein or the details of the drawings, all Work governed by the ‘Specification shall comply with the applicable provisions of the referenced publications. PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE STORAGE AND HANDLING 541 Storage To ensure use of the safety valve in the best condition at all times, make sure to store it as specified below. ® Donot remove protective sheets (guard packs) or plastic plugs from the inlet/outlet of the safety valve before it is mounted on piping or the like. @ Store the safety valve on a fiat interior floor of 50°C max. not exposed to direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity. @ Store the safely vaive as erected. Otherwise, poor seat tightness or unstable operation may be caused. ® Donot place anything on the safety valve. No. 'S-3000-3160-007 FOR FIELD PSV TESTING Sheet 5 | OF 21 @ _Be careful not to apply vibrations to the safety valve during its transportation as much as possible. © Confirm that both inlet of PSV was protected by guard pack to prevent the foreign gets into inside Of the valve during issuance to site for erection or for popping shop (Figure 01) ® Ensure that the flange gasket surface of the safely valve may not be damaged during its transportation, ® When lifting the safety valve, do not set a rope or hook against a lever of the safety valve with the lever or inside of the bonnet. ® During field installation temporary blind gasket should be installed to avoid any foreign substance Fig. 01 6 TESTBENCH Test bench and pressure gauge shall be given an individual reference number and calibrated with rized testing company duly recogni thority. Certificate Number shall be recorded, and certificate shall be attached in Test Report. BBe sure to conduct the required inspections on the test bench meeting the following requirements. © The test bench shall be internally clean, free of sand, dust, rust and other defects. Otherwise, foreign matters are caught by seat surface during operational tests and leakage from the seat surface may be caused. No. ‘S-3000-3160-007 FOR FIELD PSV TESTING Sheet 7 | OF zt | 7.23 Test Method Check the popping pressure according to the following procedures. © Mount the safety valve on the test bench securely ® Increase the pressure gradually to actuate the safety valve. @ When the popping pressure is within the allowable range, operate the safety valve 3 times in succession to check that the popping pressure is stable within the allowable range. @ When the inspection is made on a test bench, itis possible that accurate blowing is not obtained. In such @ case, conduct adjustment by tuming the adjusting ring downward by 1 or 2 notches after itis restrained by the disc. © Relating to the popping pressure, do not conduct the adjustment based on the set pressure but the cold differentia test pressure (value including back pressure correction and temperature correction) 7.24 — Acceptance Criteria @ Set Pressure Set pressure of Pressure safety valves shall be carried out API 526 Para 9.2 and tolerance of set pressure of pressure relief valve shall be applied ASME Sec.VIll UG-126. ‘Table-2 Tolerance of set pressure (C.D.T.P) _Unit: bar (MPa) Set Pressures Tolerances 5 5 (05) 0.15 (0.015) > 5 (05) + 3% of set pressure @ Functional stability The functional stability shall be performed three times to check that the set pressure is within the tolerance.
