4.2.1 Visual Inspection

Visual inspection shall be carefully inspected for wear, corrosion, deformation and mechanical
damage, connection between structure member and monorail beam shall be checked.

4.2.2 Function Test

Function test of the lifting devices is carried out without applying any load to the hook to demonstrate
movement of the crane and hoist along the whole trolley beam to verify that there is no physical
interference between equipment and other installations.
Limit switches trip when a movement reaches to its end, the rubber buffer of the equipment must not
bump against the mechanical end stoppers.
Braking response is immediate and the stopping distance of each motion is appropriate.

4.2.3 Dynamic load test

 Dynamic load test is carried out by applying 110% of the safe working load (SWL) to the hook
During the test the regulation of limit switches, brakes, lifting test, bridge traveling test, trolley traveling
test shall be checked, the test is made in order to verify the correct functioning of the mechanism and
of the brakes the test can be considered concluded satisfactorily when all the mechanism and the
brakes have shown a correct functioning, no unusual or abnormal sound is produced by the working
equipment and the visual examination doesn’t highlights damages that could affect the functioning and
the safety of the equipment.
 In case of trolley beam test load equivalent to the SWL shall be applied and traversed along the whole
length of trolley beam. If traveling the whole length is obstructed by other permanent facilities,
travelling one span which is distance between two adjacent supporting joint may be accepted as
successful set.
 Special Precaution to be taken while placing the test load to avoid any damage on concrete paving
and concrete slab of electrical / Instrument trench.

4.2.4 Static Load Test

Static load test is carried out by applying 125% of the safe working load (SWL) to the hook
The test is made in order to verify resistance of the crane structure and of its component, the test is
considered satisfactory if the visual examination after the proof doesn’t highlights deformation or
damages that could affect the safe functioning of the crane.

4.2.5 Deflection Check (If required)

 For trolley beam the maximum measured deflection of trolley beams under SWL relative to its support
shall not exceed 1/500 of the span while placing the trolley in the middle
For Cantilever beams the maximum measured deflection under SWL relative to its support shall not
exceed 1/250 of the span while placing the trolley at the end.

4.2.6 Third Party Certificate

Upon successful completion of load test inspection, ENACT shall issue third party certificate for lifting
devices.

5 PAINT
Monorail shall be uniquely tagged and marked with SWL in clearly visible location in accordance with the
approved TM-HRM3-SHY/JYC-0498 after load test.
