All the activities assigned in each unit have to be completed.
Homework Instructions:
● Homework, assignments, projects, are to be handed via D2L (if links to another platform are
provided, you must paste them in a Word document and submit them to the D2L platform in
due date). Under no circumstances will homework be accepted via e-mail, only D2L.
● Homework is due on the date specified by the teacher. Late homework will not be received
unless you attach a certificate which can be medical, domestic calamity, or an accident.
● Don’t wait until the last day of the semester to bring a certificate of an event that happened at
the beginning of the course. This will not be accepted.
● If a missing evaluation is properly justified, the participant will have a week to make-up for
such evaluation.

● Assignments are checked for plagiarism. If an assignment has more than 30% of copied
content, it will NOT be checked and the score will be F.
● Also, previous preparation of materials is a great must! Outside of class time, students are
expected to do the assigned readings, prepare grammar information and complete homework
assignments and other exercises. Evidence of accomplishment will be requested by the
teacher. All the assigned activities will have to be submitted via dropbox on D2L and they
count towards the final grade for classwork.

POLICIES:
All students taking courses at USFQ must follow the rules for ethics of learning, research, and
behavior detailed in the USFQ's Code of Honor and Coexistence. All courses should follow the
policies stated in USFQ's Manual del Estudiante.
Attendance and punctuality:
● This class follows the USFQ rules regarding attendance and punctuality. A student may be absent
three times during the course without penalty (UNEXCUSED ABSENCES).
● If a student is absent more than three times, i.e., four times or more (unexcused absences), the
final grade will have a 10-point reduction. As an example, an A will become a B, and so forth.
● A student is considered late for class if he/she arrives 5 minutes late (tardies). After the first 10
minutes the student is considered absent.
● More than five absences, i.e., six times or more (6 UNEXCUSED ABSENCES), will result in the
student receiving an F for the entire semester.
● Each time a student accumulates three tardies, those three late arrivals will count as one
absence.
● If a student has proper justification for an absence, i.e., proof of domestic calamity, an accident, or
a medical certificate, this will need to be provided during the first week after the event.
● Cell phone use in class is many times a useful tool for class, just as your computer; please give it
its proper use.
● Depending on the level that you are taking, cellphones might only be used for checking vocabulary
or important information needed for a specific classwork assignment. Due to the methodology we
are using now, class participation is of utmost importance. During live videoconferences chatting,
texting, facebooking, etc. will end in a 0 on that day’s participation.
● The language used in class is English.
● Passing grade is 65%. (P) 64.9% (F)
