Nathaniel Bassey: One-Hour Halleluyah Challenge

Last month, the renowned music minister Nathaniel Bassey, organized a one-hour halleluyah challenge
via his Instagram page. The halleluyah Challenge, which he tagged “Olowogbogboro”, was a 30-day
midnight livestream praise session. Nathaniel’s promise, inherent in the meaning of the Yoruba word,
was that God with long, outstretched hands was ready to offer miracles to those who would join him
every midnight for 60 minutes of praise throughout June.

D’banj, Rita Dominic, Funke Akindele and Don Jazzy. The participation of the celebrities in turn drew
more attention to the challenge.

Beyond attracting participants, the challenge has courted criticism. Some critics said it is just another
fancy hangout for celebrities, while others said that what Nigeria needs now is a mental revolution since
