Reversible & Irreversible Changes

Board Game
Year 6
A leading toy manufacturer is looking to expand their selection of board games. They want to
create a board game on reversible and irreversible changes but are unsure of how to do this.
Your task is to help the toy manufacturer!

BRIEF:
With a partner, you are to design and create a board game on reversible and irreversible
changes. To determine what kind of board game you are going to create, you
will need to research different types of board games.

GENERATING DESIGNS:
After researching different types of board games, you are to draw at least two different board
game designs. You will need to write next to your drawings:
• How the board game is going to work/be played.
• The different materials you are going to use to create the game.

With your partner, select which design you wish to create.

PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS:
Your board game must:
• Contain instructions on how to play the game.
• Have at least 15 questions and answers on reversible and irreversible changes.
• Relate to reversible and irreversible changes.
• Be neat, interesting and creative.
• Be able to be played by 2 or more players.

You may like to use materials such as:


• Cardboard boxes • Milk bottle lids
• Glue • Coloured pencils
• Scissors
• Coloured card

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
• Lesson 1: Research different types of board games.
• Lesson 2: Design a board game that focuses on reversible and irreversible changes.
• Lesson 3: Create the board game.
• Lesson 4: Test if the board game works as intended.

EVALUATION & PRESENTATION:


You will need to create a PowerPoint Presentation.
In your presentation include:
• The original design/drawing.
• A picture of your final game on reversible and irreversible changes.
• The questions you included in your game on reversible and irreversible changes.
• How well your game worked.
• What you would change next time.

TIME:
• Every Monday between 9am -10 am we will be working on this project.
