Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs
Our basic needs have different forms and can be
satisfied in different ways. The sum total of an individual’s
needs according to hierarchy.
Abraham Harold Maslow
 April 1, 1908 – June 8, 1970
 Was a psychologist who studied positive human
qualities and the lives of exemplary people. In 1954,
Maslow created the hierarchy of Human Need and
expressed his theories in his book “Motivation and
Personality”
Self-actualization
A person’s motivation to reach his or her full potential. As
shown in Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs, a person’s basic needs
must be met before delf-actualization can be achieved.
 Physiological Needs (Pisyolohikal)
o Breathing, food, water, sex, sleep,homeostasis,
exxcretion
o Ang pinakamababang bahagi ng piramida, kabilang
dito ang mag bayolohikl na pangangailangan sa
pagkain, tubig, hangin, at tulog.
 Safety Needs (Pangkaligtasan)
o Security of biody, of employment, of resources, or
morality, of the family, of health, of property
o Ito ay nauukol sa mga pangangailangan para sa
kaligtasan ay katiyakan sa buhay, kabilang dito anf
katiyakan sa hanabuhay at kaigtasan
 Love/Belonging Needs (Pangangailangang makisalamuha,
makisapi at mahmahal)
o Friendship, family, sexual intimacy
o Ito ay nauukol sa pangangailangang panlipunan
tulad ng pakikipagkaibigan at pagkakaroon ng
 pamilya dahil sa kailangan ng taoio ang
pagmamahal at pagtanggap ng ibang tao.
 Esteem Needs (Pangangailangang mabigyan ng
pagpapahalaga ng iba)
o Self-esteem, confidence, achievement, respect of
others, respect by others
o Nauukol sa pagkamit ng respeto sa sarili at respeto
ng ibang tao
 Actualization (pangangailangang maipatupad ang
kaganapang pagkatao)
o Morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving,
lack of prejudice, acceptance of facts
o Ang pinakamataas na antas ng hirarkiya. DIto ang
mga tao ay may kamalayan hindi lamang sa kanyang
sariling potensyal, ngunit higit sa lahat sa kabuuang
potensyal ng tao.
