Dynamic stretches are stretches that involve movement & help prepare the body
for more vigorous activity. These stretches use controlled movements to loosen
up muscles, increases heart rate & improves blood flow to the areas you will
need it most during your run. Never “hold” a stretch prior to your workout.
Key Points
never “bounce” while in a static position
keep good posture throughout all dynamic & static stretches
o shoulders back & down
o feet under hips
o no locked knees
it is possible to overstretch, so know your limits & listen to your body
if something doesn’t feel right, reassess position & try again
